About this game

Welcome to ancient China in the year 190 CE, the new era of legendary conquest. Unite the fractured land with just one Emperor and a new way of life. Get the next biggest dynasty that will last throughout the ages.  

• There will be a cast of 11 Total War THREE KINGDOMS Environment to choose from. Get to recruit heroic characters to bring your enemies to the ground in all aspects: economic, political, technological and military.
• You will be writing your own legend. Will it be of powerful friendships and alliances or of treachery and betrayals. It is your choice.
• Offering the beautiful land of ancient China, recreated stunningly with arid deserts, subtropics, and snowy mountains.
• Get to experience the Guanxi System which is the Chinese concept of dynamic inter-relationships. Having a paradigm-shifting approach to character agency with heroes that are larger than life.

Total War: Three Kingdoms is bureaucratic, obscure, dense and wickedly Machievellian if you have the appetite for it – but so was China in 190 CE, and I have genuine, sincere admiration for the way in which it’s been captured.

There is no doubt Total War: Three Kingdoms excels in many areas and has made some welcome if not long overdue changes, but it is far from perfect.
